Advice you can act on this week

We take on a small number of engagements at a time, so the person you meet is the person who does the work. No handover to a team you have never spoken to, and no report that sits unread.

What we do

Three ways to work together. Most clients start with the first and stay for the second.

Assessment

A short, fixed-scope look at where things actually stand, ending in a written view you can put in front of a board.

Delivery

We stay on through the part that is difficult, working alongside your people rather than around them, until the change holds without us.

Ongoing support

A standing half day each month for the questions that are too small to start a project and too important to guess at.

Who you will be working with

The practice was set up around a simple preference: fewer clients, more attention. Every engagement is scoped so it can be finished, and priced so you know what it costs before it starts. We say no to work we are not the right people for, and we will tell you early if that turns out to be true part way through.

What clients say

Replace these with real quotes, attributed to real people, with their permission.

They spent the first week listening, which nobody else had done, and the recommendation was the shorter for it.

Client name Role, organisation

We had been told the same thing three times by three firms. This was the first time somebody stayed to help us do it.

Client name Role, organisation

Straight answers, including the ones we did not want. That is most of why we kept them on.

Questions we are asked first

If yours is not here, ask it. The answer is usually shorter than the question.

How do engagements usually start?

With a call. We work out whether the problem is the one you think it is, and whether we are the right people for it. There is no charge for that conversation.

How are you priced?

Fixed fee against a written scope wherever the work can be scoped, and a monthly retainer where it cannot. You will have the number before anything starts.

Who actually does the work?

The people you meet in the first conversation. If we need to bring somebody else in, we will say so and introduce them before they start.

How long does a piece of work take?

An assessment is measured in weeks and a delivery engagement in months. We would rather quote a range we can hold than a date we cannot.

Do you work outside your area?

Often, and remotely where that suits the work. Ask, and we will tell you honestly whether being in the room matters for what you need.

Get in touch

Email or call. Whichever you choose, you will be answered by a person who can actually help.
